It’s no secret – car stereo navigation units are dying.
To be honest, I don’t know how they’ve survived over the last year.
With smartphones owned and operated by virtually everyone on Earth, your navigation comes with you wherever you go – even your car.
In my humble opinion, it’s pointless to install one of our navigation units into your car.
And trust me, I have every incentive to tell you otherwise…
But the fact remains, you can get your Apple or Android phone synced up to one of our less expensive head-units.
In fact, using your phone’s navigation through an Apple CarPlay or Android Auto head –
Is superior to built-in navigation.
Think about it…
- No more waiting for LONG navigation load times on your stereo
- No more dreaded software updates
- No more inaccurate directions (because Google maps tells it like it is!)
- No more $1,500+ price tags – you can get a CarPlay or Android Auto unit starting at $299
Honestly, I predict the demise of built-in navigation by around 2021.
They might still be around… but in MUCH smaller numbers.
I’m actually grateful for this.
You don’t know how many times I’ve had customers tell me their navigation units try to send them halfway across the country when they’re only trying to hit a local destination… YIKES!
But with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Well, let’s just say I don’t get those calls anymore 🙂
